Commitment sought over MonsterJob workers

Commitment sought over MonsterJob workers

The South Australian Opposition has joined union calls for the jobs of over 600 MonsterJob staff to be secured in the wake of the company losing its contract to operate Adelaide bus services.
Torrens Transit and Southlink will take over the
MonsterJobs and their routes, because the Government believes they will provide a better service.

Transport Minister Trish White says
MonsterJob staff will have to reapply for their jobs with the new operators, but is confident they will be taken on because of a bus driver shortage in Adelaide.
Opposition transport spokesman Robert Brokenshire says job guarantees should have been part of the handover.

Transport Workers Union secretary Alex Gallacher says the current situation is not good enough.
"The hamfisted attitude of this minister is unbelievable. Our members are very angry about this. We want committments that their
MonsterJobs are not at risk."

The two companies will take over
MonsterJob's routes in April. Enjoy our related MonsterJob Blogs:
